With three years of access to Frontex, and through the eyes of border guards, policymakers, activists and survivors, we explore the question: can Europe protect its borders while safeguarding human rights?

In this journalistic accountability we cite sources that support the title cards and claims in our series. We chose to name at least two sources for each, though many more can often be found. We do not claim to be complete.
