Meet Up around Gates of Europe
On 22 October, Pakhuis de Zwijger and VPRO will host a Meet Up around Gates of Europe. Taking the series as a starting point, David Yambio (Refugees in Libya), Hans Leijtens (Executive Director of Frontex), MEP Tineke Strik and EU law expert Melanie Fink will discuss one of its central questions: can Europe protect its borders while also upholding human rights?
The series brings together perspectives that rarely meet face to face in real life. This evening creates that encounter, placing the dilemmas explored in Gates of Europe in a broader political, legal and human context.
